Gordon McTavish, an architect and car enthusiast from Kloof in Durban, has won a brand-new Jetour X70 Plus Momentum SUV in Reach For A Dream Foundation's 30th annual Dream Raffle. He received the keys to his vehicle during an official handover at Jetour South Africa in Centurion.
The Dream Raffle aims to offer supporters the opportunity to win major prizes while raising funds to help fulfil the dreams of children diagnosed with life-threatening illnesses. The 2025 Dream Raffle was made possible through a partnership with Jetour South Africa and ran from July to December 2025. And to enter, participants had to purchase a R200 ticket from the Dream Raffle site, says the foundation.
McTavish bought five raffle tickets, stating that he knew that his participation supported a meaningful cause regardless of the outcome. "This is really mine, I can't believe it," says McTavish at the handover.
The self-described technology fan adds that he was looking forward to exploring the space, comfort, luxury and technology that the seven-seater SUV aims to offer, adds the foundation.
The winning call from Julia Sotirianakos, CEO of Reach For A Dream came while McTavish was travelling for work. He returned the call after his plane landed. His wife, Louise, later received messages from friends who had watched the live draw on the Foundation's social media platforms on Monday, 15 December 2025, says the foundation.
"We congratulate Gordon on his win," says Julia Sotirianakos, CEO of Reach for A Dream. "Proceeds from initiatives like the Dream Raffle enables us to continue creating moments of hope for children facing life-threatening illnesses. We are grateful to Jetour South Africa for their support in making this year's raffle a success."
The second prize winner, Gavin Govender from Durban, walked away with an Authentic Retreats holiday package. Jenny Williams from Daleview won the third prize of lifestyle vouchers worth R4 500, adds the foundation.
